Arhan Kumar is a young lyric tenor and a recent alumnus of the Harvard Glee Club. Born in New Delhi, Arhan graduated from Harvard College having concentrated in Music and Developmental Biology. Having studied singing with noted instructors and performers, including Ms. Patricia Rozario (Royal College of Music) and Mr. Frank Kelley (Boston Conservatory), Arhan has enjoyed an active career in India—particularly with the Neemrana Foundation and the Giving Voice Society—as well as in the Boston area. His musical experience also extends to conducting, which he has studied at Harvard with Maestro Federico Cortese. As an undergraduate, Arhan has performed as a soloist with organizations both at Harvard and beyond, including Harvard College Opera, Lowell House Opera, the Bach Society Orchestra, the MIT Concert Choir, and the Handel and Haydn Youth Chorus. He was also a part of the Harvard University Choir and Ferris Fellows in addition to the Harvard Glee Club. Besides being a musician, Arhan is a researcher in cancer biology at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. Outside of work, Arhan enjoys honing his skills in Italian, discovering new cuisines as a home-cook, and exploring literary works from around the world.
